ARTIST BIO - PAUL VATER

All About The Art of Sport

For over twenty years sports artist Paul Vater has been producing life like artistic impressions of some of the worlds great sporting heroes. As a sports fan the medium of pencil drawings provided a gateway to meet some of his personal sporting idols from his early drawings of Essex cricketers John Lever & Graham Gooch, to  producing work for England cricketers John Emburey, Alec Stewart & Phil Tufnell in support of their benefit seasons. Moments such as meeting the American Ryder cup team in 1989 under Ray Floyd and receiving commissions from Paul Azinger and Fred Couples to a once in a lifetime meeting with the legend of golf that was Seve Ballesteros who was kind enough to share time in his hotel at St Andrews and sign a number of prints. As an ardent  West Ham fan there was no greater feeling than being asked by the club to produce a set of 5 prints to commemorate the clubs 100th anniversary in 1995 and subsequently meeting footballing legends Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters.

Today Paul is still producing his artwork and combines his art in a number of different ways to produce some unique sporting artwork, memorabilia and collectables, so if you are looking for soemthing special but different then please take a look
